6 Months Old

January 26, 2008 was a big day at the Mabin house! Michael turned 6 months old and we celebrated all day. We took him to get his 6 month photos done...we couldn't get him to smile, but we got a picture of him with his tongue sticking out!! We went out to eat for lunch and at dinner we fed Michael rice cereal for the first time! I have been so excited to feed him. He really impressed me. He seemed to know to open his mouth for the spoon and he swallowed really well for his first time eating. When he was done eating, he really enjoyed biting the spoon. After dinner, we put candles in a weight watchers blueberry muffin and sang to our little prince. He kept trying to reach out to get the candles.

I really cannot believe that Michael is 6 months old already. I am madly in love with him! Everyday, he does something new to make me smile. Mike and I cannot believe how wonderful he is...and he just gets more and more wondeful everday!

Mike and I took him to his 6th month appointment together. He weighed 17 pounds and was 26 3/4 inches!

Bath Time

Here are some more bath shots. Bath time is becoming more and more fun each time. Michael loves splashing so much that by the end of the bath, I am also pretty wet. He is getting really good at picking up his toys which, of course, he ends up putting in his mouth! Sometimes, he likes to help Mommy with the washcloth(he also tries to put this in his mouth). Michael is very ticklish aound his neck, under his arms, and on his feet. It is so cute because he giggles while I wash him!

Out to Eat

Today, after swimming, Mom, Ashlynne, Nolan, Michael and I went out to eat at the Cheesecake Factory. Mom was off from work so we decided to spend the day together. Usually, I sit Michael in his car seat at the restaurants, but I have upgraded him to the bigger cart seat because his feet stick over the end of the infant carrier. So, for the first time, Michael sat in a high chair at the restaurant. I am so happy because he had so much fun. The table was the perfect height for Michael to take a spoon and bang. He had such a great time-it was so nice to see him enjoy himself. The next day, he sat in the grocery cart for the first time as well. He loved that also because he can see so much more around him. He especially loves looking at all the balloons on the end of the aisles.

Michael's First Pet

The last time Michael spent the day with Aunt Ashlynne and Nolan, Aunt Ashlynne told me that Michael was completely fascinated with their fish tank. So, of course, I decided we would have to go out and get Michael a fish the very next chance we had. So, a few weekends ago, Mike , Michael, and I made a trip to Pet-Co to pick out Michael's fish. These are pictures of us getting the fish bowl together and putting the fish in his new home. I think I was even more excited than Michael. I know this will be the first of many, many animals for our little Michael in the Mabin house!
